Insulation acts as a barrier to heat flow and is essential for keeping your home warm in winter and cool in summer. A well-insulated and well-designed home provides year-round comfort, cutting cooling and heating bills by up to half. This, in turn, reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Climatic conditions influence the appropriate level and type of insulation. Establish whether the insulation is predominantly needed to keep heat out or in (or both). Insulation must cater for seasonal as well as daily variations in temperature.
EPE Foam : it is mainly produced from Low Density PolyEthylene LDPE .
It is used as a substitute for Thermocol packaging in televisions, computers, refrigerators, washing machines, electronic equipment, glassware, ceramics, polyester yarn/film, handicrafts, printers, UPS, currency teller machines, diagnostic kits, surgical equipment and other fragile and delicate products. In electronic equipment, it is used as corner pads, buffers, encapsulation blocks, ribs, support pads, adhesive backed sheets and much more.
Insulation
EPE rolls and insu-tubes are widely used for insulation of windows, split AC, air handling units and AC ducting, industrial chillers, cold storage, refrigerated vans, industrial refrigerators, cold water pipes and high altitude drinking water pipe insulation.
Automobiles
It is used for roof tops, engines, bonnets, driver cabin insulation, door panels, seat linings, floor mats, carpet underlays, upholstery, sun visors and AC insulation.
Construction
It is used for expansion joint fillers, water proofing of terraces/roofs, foundation wraps, sound barrier underlays, false ceilings and structural glazing.
Sports
It is used in wrestling, judo, gymnastics, taekwondo, jogging exercise mats, leg and thigh guards, arm/elbow/shoulder pads, helmets, sleeping bags, ski belts, life saving jackets and glove and costume insulation.
Miscellaneous
It is used in carpet underlays, shoes, foam floaters for effluent treatment plants and distilleries, luggage and leather bag linings, caps, jewellery boxes, leather jackets, floppy disk mailers and picnic and garden mats.
PBPF rod is flexible, readily compressible, and non-cross linked closed-cell polyethylene back-up filler for elastomeric sealants, supplied in roll form. The product is designed for the use in the construction/expansion joint filler in concrete, brick and block work. Use PBPF Rod as a bond breaker to prevent sealant adhering to the wrong surface (concrete or organic joint filler). It is light and durable material with excellent shock absorbing and heat insulating properties. It is compatible with most known cold applied sealants such as urethane, silicone, acrylic, butyl, polysulfides, latex, and chinking sealants.
Form: Compressible Closed Cell Foam circular cords
Durability: Excellent dimensional stability
Excellent water absorption: Negligible
Color: White & Grey
Size: From 6 mm to 50 mm
Joints Preparation: The Joint surface must be clean, dry and free from oil, loose particles, cement laitance ant other contaminants which may affect the adhesion. A thorough wire brushing, grinding, sand blasting or solvent cleaning may be required to expose a clean and sound substrate. On painted surfaces all loosely adhering paint must be removed, if in doubt remove all previous decoartions. Remove all round or sharp edges and corners which might perforate or cause damage to the backing rod. The compressible joint filler shall be cut back to expose a uniform joint depth.
Select a backer rod whose diameter is at least 20% larger but not greater than 33% of the joint width. This will ensure that the backer rod remains in compression and in place during sealant installation. The backing rod shall be inserted into the joints by using a blunt tool or roller and forced gently into the joint till the desired depth is achieved.
Do not damage or poke holes in the backer rod during or after installation, since this may cause air bubbles in the sealant and affect its performance. Also, do not fold or overly stretch and compress the backer rod during installation. Ensure that it fits in tight against the sides of the joint. PBPF Rod installation shall be done only after the necessary primer has been applied to the edges of the joints.
Bubble Wrap or air bubble packing is a transparent plastic packaging material that is mainly used to pack fragile or easily breakable items. The bubbles have regularly spaced protruding air-filled hemispheres which function as the cushioning agent for sensitive and easily breakable objects. The bubble wrappers are available in various sizes.
Though you can pack anything with this packaging film, there are certain items that needs to be protected better and packed with care. Let’s have a look at the articles that are usually packaged in bubble wrap films
Fragile Items
The precious chinaware, glasses, mirrors, artworks such as paintings, and figurines, and vases fall under the category of fragile items. These are delicate and are susceptible to damage. Therefore, bubble wraps are advised as the packaging film to provide the best protection.
Sensitive Products
Electronics and electrical items are delicate and can be compromised if they are not well protected. Even a gentle fall can result in irreversible damage. Again, these items have to be protected from static-induced electric charge. Wrapping these products in anti-static bubble wrap will ensure that the products are safe even if they happen to fall down and also it will protect the items from electro-static discharge.
Furniture
These days with mushrooming of e-commerce stores, you can buy your furniture online. The online shops ensure that the product no matter small reaches the customers intact. To ensure that there is no damage to the products delivered, they wrap the items in bubble wrappers. For instance, the glass table tops, glass cabinet doors or any other glass furniture parts that are very fragile are usually wrapped in several layers of air bubble packaging films to provide the much-required cushioning against vibrations and shocks at the time of transit.
Types of Bubble Wrap
You need to choose the bubble wrap films according to your packaging needs.
